Die akribische Suche nach Schwurbel und Sprachmonstern kann aber auch in Spitzfindigkeit münden. Das ist dann der Fall, wenn der Leser selbst nach mehrmaliger Lektüre nicht entdecken kann, wo sich der Bazismus gerade versteckt hält.

Weblogs are a great tool--but introduce them willy-nilly into organizations without understanding the ramifications, and you will get a willy-nilly result. That's sort of the definition of a disruptive technology, isn't it? Unfortunately, some of blogging's most influential promoters don't seem to fully understand that they have a tiger by the tail.

Und weiter:

Journalists are most culpable for what happened here. By reporting on the blogstorm without bothering to verify facts or to take responsibility for the charges being made--and mainstream media often does this with charges made by highly questionable sources--they gave the incident credibility it would never have had otherwise.

Traditional media will respond "It was being reported elsewhere--we were just reporting that it was being reported!" I would answer: "Grow up. With the emergence of the blogosphere, speculation is a commodity.

Traditional journalism's most important role remains the same: to report the facts, as best they are known, without being gamed by those who have an agenda.

"And my greatest hubris in this is not to represent bloggers but instead to think that I can defend bloggers to journalists and journalists to bloggers. You see, I'm not a world dominator. I'm something even harder to bear: a polyanna.

I do earnestly believe -- as someone who straddles both worlds: mediaman by day, blogboy by night -- that we must work together to improve news, inform the public, and even save journalism. It's about changing the relationship of news to the public -- getting past the idea that news is done and fishwrap when we're done with it and realizing that publishing is the start of the conversation, for that is when the public corrects us and adds information and perspective we did not have.

It's about extending the newsroom in ways we cannot afford to do, as our revenue shrinks. It's about recapturing credibility, respect, and humanity for journalism. It's about changing news together (and, no, I don't know where this trajectory takes us, but we both certainly know it's not going to stay the same).

When bloggers hold journalists in disdain, I scold them and remind them that they would be nothing without reporters; they are not Danny Pearl, sacrificing his life to find the truth, and they are not the Wall Street Journal, supporting him in that quest. And when reporters disdain bloggers, I remind them that they are dismissing the public they seek to serve."

David Akin auf die Frage von Jay Rosen: Inwiefern ihn das Bloggen als Journalist verändert hat. (Vollständiges Interview hier):

David Akin: It hasn't, I'm afraid to say. What has changed me as a journalist is the Internet.

And I think it's important to realize that, as you and others try to end that irrelevant bloggers vs. journalists debate, the Internet is really the thing that has changed everything. It's the Internet that has empowered citizen journalists.

Before we had blog publishing systems, we had relatively easy-to-use Web page creation tools--anyone remember Tripod?--and listservs and chat rooms. The blog form, of course, is a tremendous improvement on many of these tools. But, really, the challenge that many bloggers believe they are taking to mainstream media were challenges that predated the blog form; they were caused by widespread use of the Internet.

Let me take that a bit further. The so-called blog challenge to mainstream journalism could not have existed without Archie and Gopher and all the depositories of online artifacts of the early Internet. That's because the blogs that are challenging mainstream thinking are blogs full of links. Someone had to create those things to link to. (Oddly, most often, they are links back to mainstream media.) The best blogs link to primary documents and primary sources. But most bloggers (and many journalists, for that matter) have trouble distinguishing primary sources from secondary sources.

E-mail, the Web browser, and always-on, wireless high-speed Internet connections are doing way more to "change me" as a journalist. With those tools, I can find new voices and new sources faster and that, I'm sure, improves the quality of my work.

Blogger Ausstellung in Zürich - Blogs nennt man die Internet-Tagebücher, in welchen Internet-Selbstdarsteller oft hemmungslos mit Bild und Text über sich und ihr Leben berichten. in einem, zur entstehung seiner bilder adäquaten verfahren, hat SISTM texte aus fragmenten sogenannter weblogs, ein kunstwort aus 'web' und 'logbuch', die allgemein als blog bezeichnet werden, generiert und editiert.

die von SISTM verwendeten textfragmente entstammen blog-tagebüchern, die von ihren autoren (bloggern) auf eigenen domains zumeinst in verbindung mit fotografien oder anderen visuellen selbstdarstellungen veröffentlicht werden.

schonungslos offen, selbstironisch, in teilweise überraschender literarischer qualität, geben überwiegend junge menschen der welt ihre gedanken und befindlichkeiten, von banalen alltagsproblemen bis hin zu existenziellen lebensfragen, preis.

THE COMMITTEE TO PROTECT BLOGGERS ANNOUNCES ITS FIRST CAMPAIGN: Free Arash and Mojtaba

Let’s show the world what the blogging community can do when it unites.

Two of our own are in prison. Bloggers Mojtaba Saminejad and Arash Sigarchi are being detained by the Iranian authorities. (See below for their stories.) Here’s what you can do.

First, download the "Free Mojtaba and Arash" banner to your blog and link it back to this post. No one in the blogosphere should be unaware of Mojtaba and Arish.

If you are outside the U.S., as many of you will be, you can contact either the Permanent Representative to the United Nations or the Iranian ambassador in your own country.

Because distinct, individual messages are more effective than form letters, we will only provide suggestions.

* Be respectful. Bloggers are known for speaking their minds with a minimum of preciousness. But you are writing diplomats, not other bloggers.
* Make reference to Article 19 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Iran is acting in defiance of this global standard.
* Write a letter in addition to an email. It will amplify your voice and come on, your printer is like three feet from you. Besides, when was the last time you went outside?
* Later, rinse, repeat. Do not just write once and forget about it. Keep on top of Arash and Mojtaba’s stories. Write and email repeatedly. Keep the pressure on.

In addition to your efforts, the Committee will contact both the Iranian Interests Section and the office of the Ambassador to the Permanent Mission. We will report back to you with what we find out.

It’s up to us, no one else. Let’s take responsibility for our own and show the world bloggers are a force.
