Der Internet-Händler Amazon probiert neue Geschäftsideen aus: Nun bietet das mit dem Verkauf von Büchern und CDs gross gewordene Unternehmen in den USA auch den Vertrieb von Delikatessen und Nahrungsmitteln von Kaviar über Hummer bis Pralinen an. Insgesamt können Kunden aus sechs Kategorien wählen: Kaffee, Schokolade, Meeresfrüchte und Kaviar, Käse, Fleisch und Geschenkkörbe.

Neben Nahrungsmitteln hat Amazon gerade erst mit dem Verkauf von Sportartikeln begonnen. Auch Baby-Utensilien und Kosmetik sind mittlerweile direkt über das Internet-Kaufhaus oder Partner zu bekommen.
