Seit kurzem durchforstet die neuartige Suchmaschine XPIDER für das Bundesamt für Finanzen das Web nach Steuersündern.

Heimlich, still und leise hat die neue Wunderwaffe deutscher Steuerfahnder ihren Dienst angetreten. Sie hört auf den Namen XPIDER und patrouilliert seit kurzem im Web. Seit wann genau, möchte man beim zuständigen Bundesamt für Finanzen in Bonn nicht verraten. Und wie die Suchmaschine im Einzelnen funktioniert auch nicht. Doch soviel steht fest: Der neuartige Web-Crawler ist in der Lage, Verkaufsplattformen jedweder Art zu durchforsten, Querverbindungen zwischen An- und Verkäufen herzustellen und das Ganze am Ende abzugleichen - etwa mit dem Handelsregister sowie internen Datenbanken des Bundesamtes. Und die haben es in sich, schließlich ist das Bundesamt die zentrale Sammelstelle] für steuerlich relevante Daten aller Art. Und damit hinterher keiner sagen kann, er sei es nicht gewesen, werden sämtliche Beweise gesichert. Und zwar so, dass sie vor Gericht verwendet werden können.
