FBI shuts down eBay hacker scam

The FBI is hunting for a hacker who stole financial information from eBay users, Yahoo News reports. The hacker, who used a University of North Carolina server, sent fake eBay e-mails to Net users telling them their accounts had been suspended and requesting personal information, including credit card numbers. Users could click an e-mail link that sent them to a Web page appearing to belong to the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Officials said the page was up for at least two hours -- scamming at least one person out of money -- and Chris Swecker, who heads the FBI in North Carolina, said he's "pretty sure there's some more (victims) out there."
