Unterstützen Sie die weltweite Kampagne zur Verhinderung der Hinrichtung von Afsaneh Norouzi durch die Islamische Republik Iran

Der Tag der Hinrichtung der Afsaneh Norouzi durch die Islamische Republik rückt näher. Im Jahr 1977 wollte ein Vertreter des islamischen Regimes Afsaneh vergewaltigen, Afsaneh wehrte sich und der Vergewaltiger fand dabei den Tod. Mehrere Vertreter von Polizei und Gerichtsmedizin sowie der Richter in ihrer ersten Gerichtsverhandlung haben die Darstellung von Afsaneh bestätigt. Aber ihre Akte wurde an ein anderes Gericht überstellt, das ein Todesurteil gegen sie verhängte. Dieses Urteil ist jetzt durch das höchste Gericht der Islamischen Republik bestätigt worden, und Afsaneh, die seit 6 Jahren im Gefängnis sitzt, ist neulich gezwungen worden dieses Urteil auch selbst zu unterschreiben. Die unbeschreibliche Rechtlosigkeit der Frau unter der Herrschaft der Islamischen Republik - besonders wenn es auch um Gesichtsverlust durch Beteiligung eines Regierungsoffiziellen geht, Rachegelüste der Regierungsstellen, verdeckte Gerichtsverhandlungen, das gänzlich reaktionäre und verbrecherische Justizsystem der Islamischen Republik und die Rechtlosigkeit der Beschuldigten vor diesen sogenannten Gerichten, dies alles arbeitet gegen Afsaneh.

Jeff Jarvis put it this way: "I'm not sure what's more important--for the big institutions (whether that's a newspaper or a presidential candidate) to blog... or to read blogs... The Internet gives a chance to make the audience shine, make the audience the star. The first job is to point to them." The real opportunity for newspapers, he suggested, could be to enable, coach and sponsor bloggers. "It's an entirely new relationship with your readers. The readers are your writers now, and that's a great new thing."

Blogs are undoing the system for generating authority and therefore credibility of news providers that's been accumulating for well over 100 years. And the reason is that the mass audience is slowly, slowly disappearing. And the one-to-many broadcasting model of communications--where I have the news and I send it out to everybody out there who's just waiting to get it--doesn't describe the world anymore. And so people who have a better description of the world are picking up the tools of journalism and doing it. It's small. Its significance is not clear. But it's a potentially transforming development... I like [it] when things get shaken up, and when people don't know what journalism is and they have to rediscover it. So in that sense I'm very optimistic."
